2. Where can I find Deaf Tech?

Deaf Tech is available exclusively through the ClickBSL app on mobile devices and

through the ClickBSL web platform. Select Tech from the ClickBSL home screen to

connect with a Deaf Tech professional.

3. Do I need an appointment?

No. Deaf Tech is available on demand during ClickBSL’s normal opening hours: 9am

to 5pm, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays and any notified closures.

Availability may depend on whether a Deaf Tech professional is already helping

other available accessibility functions.

8. Can Deaf Tech repair my device?

If your device requires a physical repair, Deaf Tech may help you identify the type of repair service you need.

9. Can Deaf Tech help with workplace technology?

Deaf Tech can provide general guidance about workplace technology where you are authorised to access the device or system.

Your employer’s IT department may need to deal with security-controlled equipment, specialist software, administrator permissions or confidential company systems.

Yes. Business support may be available through an appropriate ClickBSL Work package. Please contact us to discuss the number of users, likely support requirements and the most suitable package.

11. Which ClickBSL packages include Deaf Tech?

Deaf Tech is available through the three main ClickBSL options:

 ClickBSL Home

 ClickBSL Work

 ClickBSL Pay As You Go

The amount of access and the way charges are applied may differ between

Yes. Time spent connected to Deaf Tech is deducted from the available minutes in your package or Pay As You Go balance.

13. Can my employer pay for Deaf Tech?

Yes. An employer may purchase a ClickBSL Work package or another suitable package to provide accessible technology support for a Deaf employee.

14. Can Deaf Tech be funded through Access to Work?

Access to Work may fund eligible workplace communication or support needs, depending on the individual award and the decision made by Access to Work.

Funding is not automatic. Customers should obtain approval before relying on Access to Work to meet the cost. ClickBSL can provide service and pricing information to support an enquiry or application.

15. Is Deaf Tech confidential?

Deaf Tech professionals will treat your information confidentially and in accordance

with ClickBSL’s privacy and data-protection policies.

There may be limited circumstances in which information must be shared, such as

safeguarding concerns or a legal requirement. Please see our Privacy Policy for full

details.

16. Will Deaf Tech ask for my password or PIN?

You should never disclose your complete password, banking PIN, payment card PIN or one-time security code.

A Deaf Tech professional may guide you to the correct screen, but you should enter private security information yourself.

17. Can Deaf Tech access my device remotely?

If screen sharing or remote access is available, it will only take place with your clear

permission. You remain in control and may end the session at any time.

18. What can Deaf Tech not help with?

Deaf Tech does not provide:

 Physical device repairs

 Guaranteed data recovery

 Advanced software development

 Specialist business-network administration

 Cybersecurity investigations

 Financial, medical or legal advice

 Access to systems without the owner’s permission

 Support for illegal or unsafe activities

 Emergency assistance

Where a request is outside the service, Deaf Tech will explain this and, where

possible, suggest an appropriate next step.

19. Can Deaf Tech guarantee that my problem will be fixed?

No. Deaf Tech will make reasonable efforts to help, but some problems require a manufacturer, internet provider, employer’s IT department, repair technician or other specialist.

Customers remain responsible for their devices, accounts, files, subscriptions and decisions.

20. What should I do if I think I have been scammed or hacked online?

Stop communicating with the suspected scammer and do not approve payments or share any more information.

Contact your bank immediately if money or banking information may be at risk.

Change affected passwords using a safe device and report fraud through the appropriate official service.

Deaf Tech may provide general guidance, but it is not an emergency cybersecurity or

fraud-response service.

21. What information should I have ready?

It helps to have:

 The device with you

 A charger or sufficient battery

 A reliable internet connection

 The name of the app or website

 A description or screenshot of the problem

 Any error message

 Your account information, without sharing private passwords or PINs

22. What if Deaf Tech cannot solve my problem in one session?

Your Deaf Tech professional will explain what has been tried and suggest the next step. You may reconnect for further support or be advised to contact the device manufacturer, your employer’s IT department, your internet provider or a repair specialist.
